Promote student learning

Homework and practice exercises

Homework and practice questions in MyLab Engineering are correlated to the textbook and many regenerate algorithmically to give students unlimited opportunity for practice and mastery. The questions offer helpful feedback when students enter incorrect answers. The questions contain a number of tutorial tools and learning aids that give students the help they need when they need it.

Exercises provide step-by-step instruction, input-specific feedback, hints, videos, links to spreadsheets, sample problems, or the exact spot in the eText that addresses the learning objective of the problem.

Give students hands-on practice with hands-off grading

Auto-graded Excel Projects

Auto-graded Excel Projects in MyLab Engineering allow you to seamlessly integrate Excel content into your course without manually grading spreadsheets.

Students have the opportunity to practice important engineering skills in Microsoft Excel, helping them master key concepts and gain proficiency with Excel. Students simply download a spreadsheet, complete the project in Excel, and then upload that file back into MyLab Engineering, where they receive reports on their work that provide personalized, detailed feedback.

Student Videos

Video lectures and solutions are available to help students understand chapter concepts or to walk them through example exercises. These are available to add to assignments and accessible at all times through the Multimedia Library.

Personalized Study Plan

The Study Plan helps students monitor their own progress, letting them see exactly which topics they need to practice, at-a-glance. MyLab Engineering generates a personalized Study Plan for each student based on his or her test results, and the Study Plan links directly to interactive, tutorial exercises for topics the student hasn't yet mastered. Students can regenerate these exercises with new values for unlimited practice, and the exercises include guided solutions and multimedia Learning Aids to give students the extra help they need. Instructors can view the students' Study Plans from the gradebook and use the mastery icons to see how they're doing on their own.

Better understand student performance

Data & Analytics

MyLab Engineering gives instructors a comprehensive gradebook with enhanced reporting functionality that makes it easier for instructors to understand which students are struggling, and which topics they struggle with most.

Performance analytics, accessed through the gradebook, give you the insight you need to make more informed decisions for remediation and instruction.

Now available!
Early Alerts use predictive analytics to identify struggling students as early as possible — even if their assignment scores are not a cause for concern. As always, it is easy for you to engage students directly within MyLab Engineering and provide feedback.

Filled with a wealth of content that is tightly integrated with your textbook, MyLab lets you easily add, remove, or modify existing instructional material. You can also add your own course materials to suit the needs of your students or department. In short, MyLab lets you teach exactly as you'd like.

Robust gradebook tracking

The online gradebook automatically tracks your students' results on tests, homework, and practice exercises and gives you control over managing results and calculating grades. The gradebook provides a number of flexible grading options, including exporting grades to a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel. And, it lets you measure and document your students' learning outcomes.
